Our deodorants are 100% natural and toxic free and will make you feel clean and light while still being equally protected from odors and wetness. Using ONE Body deodorant supports your body to stay healthy and toxic free. Our products are constantly being reviewed by third party organizations to ensure we exceed your expectations. For more information go to FAQs “Our labels explained”.

Natural deodorants contain ingredients that allow the good bacteria on your skin to work, helping to reduce odor. They don´t block your pores while Antiperspirants do by adding toxic ingredients, such as aluminum, so that you don´t see any sweat. To read more about toxic free deodorants go to FAQs “toxic free ingredients”

Our deodorants are long lasting and protect you throughout the day.

Our baking soda free unscented deodorant might need to be reapplied, since the magnesium hydroxide is not as long lasting as the baking soda.

Essential oils are concentrated plant extracts that retain the natural smell and flavor, or “essence,” of their source. Essential oils can be inhaled or applied to the skin. They may stimulate your sense of smell or have medicinal effects when absorbed.

The limbic system, located under our arms, is heavily involved in forming memories. This can partly explain why familiar smells can trigger memories or emotions. Some people claim that essential oils can exert a physical effect on your body in this way, although this has yet to be confirmed through studies.

Why use toxic ingredients when there are plenty of natural resources that will have the same odor protection effect and are not harmful to your body?

Our underarm skin absorbs whatever we put on it. The underarm is directly routed to our lymphatic system, which plays an important part in our immune system. It also plays a role in controlling some unconscious physiological functions, such as breathing, heart rate and blood pressure.

So whatever you apply as a deodorant under your arms will get absorbed and will end up influencing your limbic system one way or the other, so better stay toxic free.

More-and-more people are turning to more natural & holistic approaches to personal care products. By using natural ingredients to heal ourselves we can be free of the worries of unwanted side effects.

Most conventional deodorants contain a list of toxic ingredients, such as aluminum chlorohydrate, parabens, propylene glycol and triclosan, among other questionable ones.

While aluminum is often used as a sweat blocking ingredient, skin exposure to it has also been linked to health issues that affect the liver, kidneys and the brain.

ALUMINUM:

Aluminum-based compounds are the active ingredient in antiperspirants. They work to block the body from sweating and research has suggested that these compounds are readily absorbed through the skin and have the capability of causing changes in estrogen receptors. Aluminum also is considered to be a possible risk factor for breast cancer, which is yet to be shown in studies.

PARABENS

Parabens are a class of widely used preservatives in cosmetic and pharmaceutical products. In deodorants they are used to prevent bacterial growth. Of greatest concern is that parabens are known to disrupt hormone function, an effect that is linked to increased risk of breast cancer and reproductive toxicity. Parabens most commonly used in over 75% of common deodorants are: benzylparaben, butylparaben, isobutylparaben, methylparaben and propylparaben.

PROPYLENE GLYCOL

It actually is classified as an irritant by the National Library of Medicine. Due to its property as penetration enhancer, it aids harmful chemicals to enter into your skin faster, causing irritation. PG is derived from petroleum.

TRICLOSAN

Triclosan is an ingredient added to many consumer products intended to reduce or prevent bacterial contamination. The ruling follows recent studies that have raised questions about whether triclosan is hazardous to human health. Research has shown that triclosan:

  • Alters hormone regulation in animals
  • Might contribute to the development of antibiotic-resistant germs
  • Might be harmful to the immune system

When you use a product containing triclosan, you can absorb a small amount through your skin or mouth.

FRAGRANCE (PHTHALATES)

Listed as DHP, DBP5, DEHP, and dibutyl phthalate in personal care products. They are considered probable carcinogens by the EPA and likely to cause cancer. Phthalates are also known endocrine disruptors (may interfere, mimic or block hormones), development toxicants (can interfere with the normal development of a fetus or child), and a reproductive toxicant (can harm the reproductive system). Phthalates also have the ability to increase the absorbtion of parabens which enter the body and attach themselves to the nearest estrogen receptor. “Estrogen receptors are all over your body, but certainly, breast tissues have lots of them,” explains Dr. Phillipa Darbre, lead author of study of University of Reading paraben study.

Toxic free ingredients

Most conventional deodorants contain a list of toxic ingredients, such as aluminum chlorohydrate, parabens, propylene glycol and triclosan, among other questionable ones. These toxic ingredients have been linked to health issues. Toxic free products support the body when sweating while at the same time protect from odors just as good as conventional deodorant does.

Our labels explained

Our labels ensure our customers that we deliver what we sell: a product that is organic, natural and edible, verified by third party audits.

There are a lot of products on the market that claim to be organic and natural. USDA organic products have strict production and labeling requirements. Organic products must meet the following requirements:

  • Produced without excluded methods, (e.g., genetic engineering, ionizing radiation, or sewage sludge).
  • Produced using allowed substances. View the National List of Allowed and Prohibited Substances (National List).
  • Overseen by a USDA National Organic Program-authorized certifying agent, following all USDA organic regulations.
  • Overall, organic operations must demonstrate that they are protecting natural resources, conserving biodiversity, and using only approved substances.

GMO stands for Genetically Modified Organism, and refers to plants, animals or other organisms whose genetic material has been changed in ways that do not occur naturally. The “nonGMO” claim means that the product is made without ingredients that were derived from genetically engineered organisms. There are still no long term studies on the effects of GMO use in foods and beauty products and the risks for our organisms and our environment are uncertain.

General product questions

Most of our new ONE BODY users have made the switch to our natural deodorant instantly without any problems. In the case you feel that you´re smelling more than before, your body is detoxing from previous used products. ONE BODY deodorant isn’t making you smell worse, but the bacterial communities under your arms are changing and it doesn’t happen overnight! The detox period may take up 2 to 4 weeks. Stick with it- your body will love your toxic free future!

The coconut oil applies smoothly onto your skin with your body temperature melting it onto your skin when applying. Yet, sometimes the coconut oil builds up a harder surface with the essential oils. In that case please rub with your fingers of the surface to soften it. The deodorant should be kept at room temperature to perform at its best.

The best place to store ONE BODY deodorants is at low humidity and a temperature range of 65-80 degrees Fahrenheit (18-25 degrees Celsius). It is best to avoid direct sunlight and extreme heat that may cause the coconut oil to melt.

We have formulated our deodorants to perfection, so there shouldn´t occur any marks on your clothes. Yet, you may want to make sure to avoid direct contact with especially sensitive materials such as silk. Any marks should wash out with warm water since they are all natural.

No, our deodorants are considered a solid product and therefore have no restrictions on sizes or weight when crossing the security check at airports.
